It directly helps the rural poor in the village communities if the Gram Panchyats provide good governance and just development. Accordingly, the focus in all the projects with Gram Panchayats during the period under review has been on good local self-governance and just rural reconstruction, with perceptible impact, minimizing democratic deficit and trust deficit in the Panchayats while rendering basic needs and services to the disadvantaged sections of the population better.
