Events Organised:
A variety of 49 multi-level events on vital themes have been organised by AVARD during the period under review as depicted year-wise in the following Table:

On an average, it comes to about 12 events per annum. The themes, durations/dates, venues and sequences of these events speak for themselves and reflect the vital issues and needy areas covered. However, the following four national events deserve special mention:
- National Consultation on the ‘Role of Voluntary Organisations in Participatory Local Self-governance and Rural Reconstruction through Panchayats in India’, in New Delhi on 16-17 September 2009;
- National Consultation on ‘Gram Swaraj: Quest Continues’ at Sevagram Ashram (Wardha, Maharashtra) on 27-28 October 2010;
- National Round Table on ‘Land Rights and Food Security & Land Grabbing’ in New Delhi on 28-29 June 2011; and
- National Meeting on ‘The Draft Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2011’ in New Delhi on 18 August 2011
Not the least, we place on record our appreciation and gratitude for the cooperation received from local members/Focal Agencies in organizing these events in various states, other than Delhi, smoothly.
