Shri L.C. Jain
A well known Gandhian Economist and freedom fighter served AVARD as its Treasurer and General Secretary. He played vital role in settlement of refugees from Pakistan and promotion of handicrafts and artisans. He was the brain behind the establishment of Handicrafts Board, Cottage Emporium and many other institutions. He also served as Member of Planning Commission of India and High Commissionor of India to South Africa. He was a recipient of Ramon Magsaysay Award and was offered Padma Bibhushan post humously by UPA government but his family declined by saying that he was against accepting State honours.
